superstitious which is a bunch of crap. If some of them had
a heart at that time, the maya would still be there. I also notice
something else. Probably and hopefully, they fled before the
spanish showed up because of earthquakes, and other
seizemetic activity close to them. Mexico and other Central
American countries are notorius for volcanos and earthquakes.

The Mayans were never conquered by anyone. They left their cities long before Europeans entered Meso America.
